Issues

RECOVERING FROM THE CAMP FIRE

The Camp Fire was the most devastating event in the history of Butte County. With over 35 years of experience helping local businesses and farms manage their finances, I am uniquely qualified to continue helping our county recover and rebuild.

GROWING OUR AG INDUSTRY

Butte County is the envy of most other counties in California due to our fertile soils, abundant water and fantastic climate. As the only farmer on the Board of Supervisors, I will continue working shoulder to shoulder with farmers and producers of all sizes to make sure our agricultural industry is successful and thriving.

PRESERVING OUR WATER

The future of our agricultural industry is directly connected to the availability of water and the wise use of this precious natural resource. Having served as the Vice Chairman of the County Water Commission, I know the issues and will continue to halt any grab of our water.

PRIORITIZING PUBLIC SAFETY

Providing law enforcement with the tools and funding they need must be a top priority for Butte County, especially in the rural areas. I’ve got the financial expertise needed to keep the budget balanced and prioritize essential services like public safety.

TRAINING A WORKFORCE

The generation of men and women who are skilled in welding, woodworking and other trades are retiring – and this is a major concern for local employers. I will continue to be a fierce proponent of building a skilled workforce. These are good paying jobs and we need the workers to build homes and support industries.
